From the Latin, the term design means “throw forward” expressing the deeper meaning of the existence:
innovation. Being the realization of what has always been projected ahead, the
design is the resolution of technological problems. These concepts are the
basic values of AIPHOS.
AIPHOS’s
design method is performed with modern virtual technologies (CAD-CAE-DMU),
which guarantee safety and reliability of the products and facilitate the
manufacturing chain.
The results achieved by AIPHOS for Customers, involves the fields of
innovation in the transport sector. Specifically the studies, the analysis and
achievements are focused on the field of innovative materials and advanced
manufacturing.

- For a leading company in the automotive sector, we studied an
innovative method for joining composite materials (laminates). Specifically, the technology consists in the
using of electromagnetic induction to weld / glue different structural
composites. Our technology is a solution
for the problem of joints on composite materials, which have difficulties to be
riveted for reasons related to mechanical stress. This study, developed for the
automotive industry, can also be implemented to further transport sectors.
- For a company leader in the naval sector, we have studied, designed
and built, the best configuration of the composite material to ensure high
vibro-acoustic efficiency for the ship
bulkheads. The used composite, sandwich type, also ensures a high thermal
insulation.
- For a company leader in aerospace, AIPHOS is building a special
electromechanical fixture to weld titanium components with the LFW principle
(Linear Friction Welding). The LFW Fixture is rigidly linked to the pallet of a
milling cutter. The equipment allows to perform the linear friction welding
(max 70 Hz) for non axisymmetric components at a lower cost than buying the
dedicated machine.

- For a company leader in the civil sector, we are making a special
bunker door, which will be mounted in a nuclear research center (Romania). The
door (weighing about 100 tons, as an aircraft at full load) must rotate around
its axis in order to ensure the passage of heavy vehicles in the building. The
difficulty lies in the appropriate sizing of the kinematics involved in the
structure.
- For the rail sector we have been activated research projects for
technological development of composite materials and metal alloys in order to
improve their characteristics. We have the scope of ensuring the repeatability
of the series production regarding the equipments and the heavy medium
carpentry components. Within our staff, to the relevant part of the railway
sector, we enjoy the collaboration of engineers and technical operators
experienced in the construction and overhaul of railway components with a solid
experience of the product Tramwave®.
